ABOUT US

Each year I bake a heap of gingerbread houses and gingerbread men and gather my family, nieces and nephews together to have an afternoon full of sugar and laughter. The thing that brings everyone together to build sweet memories and connections is the gingerbread. Bringing this connection to life through 'ink' is how we create artwork for your baby's nursery, milestone cards and one day onto fabric to swaddle and hold your baby.
But always our main aim of creating Gingerbread Ink is so you can hold your baby in your mind, and think of them and what they do in a new reflective way that promotes the attachment bond between you and your bub.

But who are we? Well, I'm Lisa, and I'm a Senior Occupational Therapist and Paediatric Massage Consultant, currently working in a private psychology practice and a child and parent centre in Perth, Western Australia. I work with a relational focus, understanding that the well being of a child or baby and the well being of the family go hand in hand. Having decided to specialise in working with young children and their families, I completed a Masters degree in Infant Mental Health. I have been trained in a number of attachment based and mentalizing based treatment programs and intervention methods to support infants, young children and their families.

I thought about the idea of Gingerbreak Ink a couple of years ago- a venture that could help to inspire caregivers to extend their reflections of their children, thereby promoting the infant and young child's mental health. I love designing pieces that are pretty enough to be featured in a baby's nursery as they grow and explore the world. My husband, Chris, is a graphic designer and is the tech side of G-ink. And then there's Toby- our Border Collie puppy; who in working from home time is called Darren from 9-5. Darren needs to know that peeing inside the workplace isn't ok and needs to step up his photoshop game.

We can't wait to share with you what we have planned for G-ink in the future.
